For 11 years, Piotr has been helping the largest Polish and foreign companies to secure their Internet networks and services. He graduated from the Glasgow Caledonian University and AGH University of Science and Technology. He embarked on his professional career in the IT industry at the British branch of Philips Electronics. A founder of Niebezpiecznik.pl – an advisory company providing consulting services related to security of IT projects and the largest Polish information service devoted to cybersecurity. At Niebezpiecznik.pl Piotr manages a team conducting audits and penetration tests for system administrators and software developers, aimed to check security of computer networks and web applications. They also carry out “soft” training aimed to raise awareness of IT security addressed to office workers and management.

Description: During the lecture, Piotr will show how personal data (and not only) that belongs to each of us is obtained by on-line criminals. He will demonstrate the secrets of some data leaks to which the victims did not contribute, and a dozen situations that resulted in the leakage of individual data solely because of their own naivety. Unfortunately, these days, thousands of Polish people are affected. During the lecture he will also provide tips on how to use the Internet in the most secure way possible, not only in business use but also in private life. Piotr will show the elements of techniques used for business espionage, i.e. he will explain how competing companies collect data on their market rivals and how to avoid data leakage and what to do once it has already happened.
